Moussa’s Family

Eng. Ali Moussa is an Egyptian citizen holds a Bachelor of Science in Architecture from Ecole des Beaux-Arts, Paris, France. His major interests are concentrated in three sectors: Building material , Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) and Information & Communication Technologies (ICT). He holds many positions (Chairman/Director/Board Member /Partner) in over 30 leading entities throughout the region.

Being an honest advocate of Egypt’s development has earned Mr. Moussa various political positions; Chairman of the Cairo Chamber of Commerce, President of the French-Egyptian Presidential Business Council, Chairman of the Egyptian General Division of Building Materials in the Federation of Egyptian Chambers of Commerce, Board Member of The Internal Trade Development Authority, and others.

The United Paints and Chemicals, S.A.E – Drymix is the largest producer of cement based, ready mixed mortars serving the construction industry in Egypt, Africa and the Middle East. Drymix Egypt was established in August of 1997, and has ever since become the generic name for the ready mixed mortars in the Egyptian markets till today. Drymix is a joint stock company completely owned by Orascom for Construction and the United Holding Company (UHC).

Drymix factory

Drymix’s factory is built over 30,000 m2 in the 6th of October City,Egypt. the factory operates on a fully automated, environment friendly production plant capable of producing 240,000 tons/year. Drymix’s plant is equipped with ultramodern machinery supplied by the German M-Tech / Maxit, the biggest company in the world in this field. The plant consists mainly of a production tower (33.5 m height) with storage capacity of 1680 tons for the bulk raw materials, and 16 smaller silos with storage capacity of 2.5 tons/silo for storing chemicals and the additives.

All the different production steps are processed in a computerized control manner utilizing Programmed Logic Control (PLC) device. The PLC controls the entire production steps, starting from filling the silos with different raw materials. Then the PLC controls the dosing of each recipe into the weighing and dosing hoper ensuring the exact components of each product.

Then the raw materials are fed to the state-of-the-art mixer which is fitted with three agitators for homogeneous mixing, it can mix up to 2-ton batches in 3 – 5 minutes. Finally, the products can be packed either in the valve filling bags 10 – 40 kg bags. All the raw materials, the additives, the manufacturing, computerized mixing and the packaging are put under strong observation by the quality control department to guarantee the best result every time.
